By piecing together these distinct fragments, we’ve created a “mosaic” of wood that bridges the gap between ancient artifact and modern art. The frame features a mesmerizing, semi-abstract tribal motif, created by the interplay of various carving styles. Some sections feature deep geometric notches, while others show softer, organic curves. The wood has been treated with a bleached or “scrubbed” finish, stripping away dark varnishes to reveal the raw, honest grain underneath. This pale, sandy tone makes the intricate shadows of the carving pop, adding texture without overwhelming a neutral room.
