This exceptional end table is a powerful piece that is both a historical artifact and a modern sculpture. The massive, thick antique wooden bowl, with its deep, worn interior and beautiful, raw patina, is most certainly a dough bowl (coupe à pain), once used for kneading bread in a French or Spanish farmhouse in the late 19th century. This old large vessel of nourishment and community has been reborn, mounted securely onto a custom, clean-lined modern metal base that provides a striking juxtaposition between the rustic and the industrial.
